The "Impressive Leadership" Program

 Management Skills for 21st Century Leaders


A multi-day workshop for middle-senior managers.

Our premier "Impressive Leadership" program for managers covers all main areas of leading others.

​It's a combination of processes and people skills - including: creating and leading a positive workplace culture, learning about personality styles, practical advice on managing change, how to have effective conversations with under-performing staff, managing time and priorities, and improving customer service. We also look at workplace reviews that actually work, achieving goals, and designing specific projects - for each participant to take on and report to their own managers about. Every program has a refresher follow-up session built in to ensure real change in the workplace and to support participants down the track.

While designed as a 3-day program for senior managers + a 2-day program for middle managers, topics can be selected to be flexible in this delivery. It can also be run as a condensed 2-day program, a live-in program, or with extended activities for a 4-day program.


Who the program is intended for?  The 3-day program has been created for senior managers. The 2-day version is more for mid-level managers.

What skills does it target? This program targets taking on a leadership perspective and vision when managing people. It focuses on creating, leading and maintaining a great team culture, managing priorities in order to reach both company and team goals, and being able to deal with innovation and change.

Topics covered:

Leadership in Today's Workplace

provides  motivational information and practical techniques to create a more positive, personal and professional culture back in the workplace.

Topics Include:
• Leading and modelling a great culture – small
  teams & organisation-wide
• Leading a strong, flexible and goal-focused
  culture
• Moving from claiming entitlement to taking
  ownership
• Introducing non-negotiables (team rules) to
  maintain standards and values
• Understanding the importance of innovative
  praise and recognition
Creating A Positive Workplace Culture provides participants with the concepts, insight and new skills to create real and effective relationships with everyone they work with. 

Topics Include:
• What is Emotional Intelligence and how do I
  know if I have it?
• What style are you?
• The 4 main styles & 16 very different profiles
• What happens when people are under pressure
  and stress?
• Flexing – the only thing that really counts.
• How to use behaviour styles to praise, solve
​  conflict and get a promotion!
• How to talk to and mentor your team members
21st Century Customer Service
​
will focus on the importance of customer service in our 21st century workplace, and provide participants with the understanding of what’s at stake and give ideas to springboard bringing service back to the for-front of our minds and actions on a day-to-day basis.

• Old service and new service – what’s the
​  difference?
• Social media has changed everything
• Leverage your strengths
• Your customer service initiative.
Managing Your Mojo
​
session on Managing Your Mojo will help busy leaders to focus on their priorities
and establish ways to bring about sustainable improvements with both their own productivity and that of their teams. This is not just about time management, but managing your energy, your stress, and giving your team what they truly want and need to be productive on a long-term basis.

Topics Include:
  • Let's look at how change has changed.
  • Managing your energies
  • Recalibrate your team and what their priorities really are.
  • How to get the important stuff done!
Effective Conversations
​teaches the specific crucial components of effective conversations with difficult

and/or under-performing staff. Participants will be provided with the keys to be able to have frank and sincere feedback chats with colleagues, clients and other stakeholders. 

​Participants will roleplay scenarios and get lots of skill practise to improve their competence and confidence in this area.

Topics Include:
  • Why it’s your job to show tough leadership
  • On the bus or off the bus – where are your staff?
  • Where do I stand? – rights, obligations and Industrial Relations
  • Reasonable or feral responses – you can handle them all.
Real Reviews That Work!
​
Do your team members see ‘performance development’ as a simple, positive and action oriented process that everyone genuinely looks forward to? It is possible!

​This session takes a
contenporary approach and dares participants to implement an easy to use, productive & positive living document to revolutionise performance reviews forever.

Topics Include:
  • To review or not to review?
  • How to conduct future-oriented reviews
  • A one-page review document everyone can use
  • Succession planning for success
